Building on earlier events this seminar will explore the relationships between State authorised systems of care, custody and containment and those that they seek to help, punish or detain.
The seminar will be offered with colleagues from EMERGENCE, a major National service-user led organisation that aims to make a life changing difference for everyone affected by personality disorders through support, advice and education(http://www.emergenceplus.org.uk/).
Discussion will be structured around a series of dialogues and will focus on service-users’ experience and may raise issues such as psychosocial processes of inclusion/exclusion, the giving and taking of offence, diagnosis and (not) being diagnosed, and treatment/rehabilitation.
The seminar will take place at the Docklands Campus, University of East London from 9:30 – 5.00 on the 23rd June 2015.
